America Speaks on AI: The Rest of the World Goes Where? Consumer Health AI

Ark Invest and Cathie Wood: More to Come

In our last blog, we briefly touched on Ark Invest’s Big Ideas for 2025 and beyond (link below). Today, we’re diving deeper into that report, but the headline around Vice President JD Vance’s speech at the European AI Conference, hosted in Paris, is simply too significant to not take center stage.

America First on AI

New York Times
“Vance, in First Foreign Speech, Tells Europe That U.S. Will Dominate A.I.”
Speaking in Paris at an artificial intelligence summit, the vice president delivered an America-first vision for the technology—highlighting U.S. dominance in chips, software, and regulatory standards.

Vice President JD Vance’s remarks at the Paris AI Summit 2025 were an unwavering affirmation of America’s leadership in AI. He underscored the importance of innovation, economic growth, and national security, while also cautioning against excessive regulatory frameworks. Vance’s speech painted a bold vision of AI as a transformative force that requires nurturing through free-market principles, strategic investments, and a commitment to safeguarding free speech.

America’s Leadership in AI

Having previously been a Silicon Valley venture capital investor, Vance began by declaring that the United States remains the global leader in AI development, with plans to maintain that position. He said:
“The United States of America is the leader in AI, and our administration plans to keep it that way.”

He credited America’s unique combination of ingenuity and private-sector dynamism for driving unmatched innovation. Vance emphasized that AI is more than just an economic tool; it’s a strategic asset that’s essential to maintaining U.S. global leadership.

The Dangers of Overregulation

One of the central themes of Vance’s speech was his strong warning against overregulation of the AI industry. He cautioned that excessive government interference could stifle innovation, especially at a time when AI is on the cusp of revolutionizing industries and empowering businesses worldwide.

“We believe that excessive regulation of the AI sector could kill a transformative industry just as it’s taking off.”

He urged policymakers, both in the U.S. and internationally, to adopt a regulatory approach that fosters healthy competition and innovation—rather than implementing restrictive measures that could inadvertently hand strategic advantages to adversarial nations.

AI and Free Expression

Vance also tackled the growing concerns surrounding ideological bias in AI. He reassured the audience that the administration is committed to ensuring AI systems developed in America remain free from bias and will never restrict citizens’ fundamental right to free speech.

“The Trump administration will ensure that AI systems developed in America are free from ideological bias and never restrict our citizens’ right to free speech.”

For Vance, this is not just a policy concern—it’s a vital issue of democracy and innovation. He argued that AI should reflect a diversity of perspectives, rather than being manipulated to serve specific political or ideological agendas.

International Cooperation and U.S.-European Collaboration

Acknowledging the global implications of AI, Vance urged international allies to collaborate on AI development—particularly with European partners. He emphasized the need for a shared vision between the U.S. and its allies, stressing that Europe should avoid counterproductive regulations that could hinder progress.

“We need our European friends in particular to look ahead, not backward, and ensure that AI innovation thrives across the West.”

In pushing for cooperation without excessive government oversight, Vance reinforced the notion that leadership in AI should remain with democratic nations committed to free enterprise and human rights.

A Future of Prosperity and Security

Concluding his speech, Vance emphasized the potential of AI to enhance national security, foster economic prosperity, and improve societal well-being. He urged policymakers to focus on empowering American companies and researchers to push the boundaries of AI while ensuring its benefits are widely shared.

“We must focus now on the opportunity AI presents, embrace its potential, and use it to improve the security and well-being of our nations and their peoples.”

EU to Invest Over $200B in AI

At practically the same time, the European Union pledged to invest over $200 billion to compete with the U.S. and China in AI development. European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen emphasized that the EU aims to supercharge its ability to compete globally. She remarked:

“We want Europe to be one of the leading AI continents, and this means embracing a life where AI is everywhere.”

According to The Wall Street Journal, the EU is setting up “gigafactories” designed to train the most complex AI models. These facilities will be equipped with roughly 100,000 state-of-the-art AI chips—about four times more than those currently installed in AI factories being set up globally.

Healthcare AI: Transforming Lives

As we’ve highlighted, and as Cathie Wood noted in her report, healthcare applications of AI are already among the most impactful. AI is saving lives in fields like radiology, pathology, and genetics. For example, a local company led by a friend is making incredible strides by utilizing genetic data to assist researchers in identifying potential diseases. AI is aiding in the search of genetic connections to over 1,000 diseases. While the human brain is incredible, no single person could search the vast array of genetic data in a way that AI can.

Though AI has made impressive progress in healthcare, it’s not yet capable of fully replacing the role of a physician. Physicians still play an essential role in editing and interpreting results, ensuring accuracy and applying the necessary context. However, AI, especially when integrated with Consumer Electronic Health Records (EHRs), has the potential to revolutionize the way healthcare providers and consumers exchange information.

Final Thoughts

AI, while not yet perfect in all areas of healthcare, is an invaluable tool that promises to improve the efficiency and accessibility of healthcare services. By streamlining data flow, supporting decision-making, and providing deeper insights, AI has the potential to transform how care is delivered—creating a brighter, more efficient future for consumers and providers alike.

About HealthScoreAI ™

Healthcare is at a tipping point, and HealthScoreAI is positioning to revolutionize the industry by giving consumers control over their health data and unlocking its immense value. U.S. healthcare annual spending has exceeded $5 trillion with little improvement in outcomes. Despite advances, technology has failed to reduce costs or improve care. Meanwhile, 3,000 exabytes of consumer health data remain trapped in fragmented USA systems, leaving consumers and doctors without a complete picture of care.

HealthScoreAI seeks to provide a unique solution, acting as a data surrogate for consumers and offering an unbiased holistic view of their health. By monetizing de-identified data, HealthScoreAI seeks to share revenue with consumers, potentially creating a new $100 billion market value opportunity. With near-universal EHR adoption in the USA, and advances in technology, now is the perfect time to capitalize on the data available, practical use of AI and the empowering of consumers, in particular the 13,000 tech savvy baby boomers turning 65 every single day and entering the Medicare system for the first time.  Our team, with deep healthcare and tech expertise, holds U.S. patents and a proven track record of scaling companies and leading them to IPO.
